Revision as of 04:58, 19 November 2024

20° summer wear
19°-20° Polyester T-shirt under summer wear. Sweaty at the end, but about right.
19° long sleeve thin appropriate at outset. Half finger gloves. Shorts
18° long sleeve or t-shirt under summer wear. Half finger gloves. Shorts.
17° No more summer wear! Long sleeve a little chilly at outset. Half finger gloves. Shorts.
17° Light rain. Goretex and long sleeve thin. Full finger gloves. Shorts. A bit sweaty on the way out but when the rain came down, just right.
16° "40%" nearly rain. Suddenly Biemme thinnish long sleeve fleece! It was okay too. Half finger gloves. Shorts.
16° long sleeved thin with T-shirt. No rain. Full finger thin gloves. Shorts. Could do without the T once warmed up but nice at first. Same in 2024/11/11. Fine.
14° Biemme thinnish long sleeve fleece. A bit cold at first but just right later. No rain. Full finger gloves. Shorts.
14° Thin long sleeve over thick t-shirt and orange neck-warmer. thin long pants. Full finger gloves. I did not need the neck-warmer, nor on another day, a thick T-shirt
13-14° Biemme thinnish long sleeve fleece with T-shirt and long new green pants. No rain. Full finger gloves. Great!
13-12° Biemme (thinnish long sleeve fleece) with T-shirt and long new green pants. Wet road. Full finger loves. Thin fleece. Fingers go a little cold towards end, but great.
12° Biemme thinnish long sleeve fleece with T-shirt. Impermeable neck-warmer. No rain. Full finger gloves. Long thin pants. Any colder and I need fleece glove liners and perhaps shoe covers
11° Thin (yellow) long sleeve top over red long sleeve cotton shirt ("lemons") and t-shirt. Full finger gloves. Thin neck-warmer. I did not need the fleece gloves, nor even the neck warmer by Niho.
9° Thin (orange) long sleeve top over thick long sleeve cotton shirt (stripes) and T-shirt. Thick large neck-warmer. Think long finger gloves over fleece gloves. Thin long pants. Okay. A slightly thinner neck-warmer would have been fine.
9-8° (立冬11/07) Thinner yellow Shimano over T-shirt, red thin long UFO gloves over 100 yen Fleece, green (PET) shoe covers, two thin hats. Okay, a little cold in the forearms and fingers by the end.
8-7° Thinner yellow Shimano over maroon compression long-sleeve T-shirt grip-grab long gloves over 100 yen Fleece, big black PET/shoe covers, two thin hats. Thin triangular neck-warmer. Okay, a little fingers by the end at only 7° in early October (11/08).
7° Thin (yellow) long sleeve top over thick long sleeve cotton shirt (stripes) and T-shirt. Thin (camouflage) neck-warmer. Thin long finger gloves over fleece gloves. Thin long pants. Only just! Slight finger freeze into the Niho North Wind
7° Shimano winter cycling over fleece gloves. Shimano only would do. First triangular neck warmer. Two T-shirts NOT needed.
7°-6° Gripgrab over fleece gloves a bit cold at end. Thinner Shimano over stripe long T, over T, thin pants. Black-watch thinnish fleece hat. Thin △ neck-warmer. Thin socks . Only finger tips cold and feet a little chilly. Two pairs of socks recommended. (UFO over fleece didn't work. UFO down to 8°) 6°-7° Black&White snowboard gloves over fleece gloves. Thinner Shimano over stripey long T, over T, thin pants. Two pairs of thin socks. Fine. No need for fleece gloves at the end 7°. I.e. Gripgrab over fleece or Snowboard down to 7° below that snowboard plus fleece. 7° (Threatening rain) Shimano winter cycling gloves. Green Goretex top over thin long sleeve top and t-shirt. Thin pants over long johns (latter prob not needed) Shoe covers. Great!
7° 2023. Gripgrab smaller 'XL' gloves, newer Shimano yellow jersey over T-shirt, big (yellow) neck warmer, florescent yellow over black leggings. Smaller Grip Grab gloves currently lack closure. Wore red fleece liners near end. Otherwise fine. just, sporty.
6° The UFO cotton gloves can just about be used by not the yellow Seven ones. Biemme or Thin ove thick cotton
5° Time for Shimano gloves. Shimano or Biemme top on t shirt
1° Shoe covers. Snowboarding gloves over fleece (and still cold by Niho). Shimano top over long sleeve cotton.
The temperature has decreased fast but I have not had time to update this.
4° (3°?) Even Yasuko's snowboarding gloves hurt at Niho with 100 yen shop liners. At about the same temperature to Iwaya, red fleece liners made it just about bearable.
4° 2023 Sunny bright till Oouchi but Drizzle in Niho/Miyano. Warmest Biemme jersey over thinner yellow shimano for max warmth (too much till the rain), and only Grip Grap over red liners. All okay. My hands worked as radiators for my over heated body. Had I worn a thinner top my hands would have felt cold. I need to think of combinations.
3° Lobster with red liners, Shimano neon yellow top with long sleeved cotton stripy shirt, shoe covers, long-johns and thin yellow pants -- Perfect. But <3° and my hands will freeze. Shimano (or the new gloves on order) under lobster may work to 2°. 1° will require fairings.
3° Lobster gloves over Gripgrab over 100 fleece gloves. Older Shimano neon yellow over long sleeved T shirt. Big neck-warmer. It was a perfect fit. It could have been autumn.
2° New Gripgrab gloves over red fleece. Legwarmers, neon leggings. Neon Shimano over long sleeve. Shoe covers. Only my fingers cold.
1.8° Lobster gloves over Gripgrab over 100 fleece gloves. Cold by the end. I am going to need a fairing. Older Shimano neon yellow over two T-shirts. Only my fingers suffered.
1°-0° 2023 Red Lobster Gripgrab over ¥100 fleece, Biemme Inghilterra (?no) over thinner neon Shimano, both neck-warmers, fluorescent over ¥300 leggings. All fine except toes because forgot socks. 1° Lobster gloves over Gripgrab over ¥100 fleece gloves plus file fairing which I used for bout 30% of the ride. Hands not cold till the end.
-1° Lobster gloves over Gripgrab over red fleece inner gloves plus file fairing file fairing. But the file fairing is dangerous. I did not use it much. Shimano (old) over long sleeve "Lemo" sweatshirt, T-shirt, long johns, two big neck-warmers, double socks. Okay.
Thin over cotton = Biemme so the former on days when it is going to get warm in the day. 10° is limit of cotton gloves on their own.
5° is the limit of best cotton gloves over fleece
> 4° and below shoe covers I think
> 3° snowboard or lobster gloves maybe.
< 3° lobster gloves
I think
< 2° fairing
